Eliminating plastic waste is so important in an island community surrounded by fragile marine waters. I do my best in my daily life to minimize the use of single-use plastics—from bagging groceries at my car with my own reusable bags to instilling a value in my children to take care of their environment. I am honored to be part of the Plastic Free Salish Sea coalition, which helps spread the word about refusing, reducing, and reusing plastic in our community
